The Fond du Lac County Clerk is reminding residents that voter photo ID will take full effect this year starting with Tuesday’s primary. Clerk Lisa Freiberg says for most people a photo ID will be a driver’s license. Freiberg says the poll worker will look at the photo ID to make sure it kind of looks like you and that the name on the ID matches the name in the poll book. If you don’t have a driver’s license you can pick up a photo ID at the DMV office for free.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
