The Fond du Lac Police Department is investigating a two vehicle accident that occurred Friday afternoon on W. Johnson St. and Rickmeyer Drive in the City of Fond du Lac. Preliminary investigation shows that a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by a 24 year old man from Theresa WI was traveling south bound on Rickmeyer Dr. and was making a left hand turn to go eastbound on W. Johnson St. and was struck by a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by an 18 year old Fond du Lac man who was traveling west bound on W. Johnson St. The 24 year old Theresa man was ejected from his vehicle and was transported by Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue to Theda Clark Trauma Center with critical injuries. The 18 year old Fond du Lac man was transported to St. Agnes Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Fond du Lac Police were assisted at the scene by Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue and the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department. The accident remains under investigation.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
