A Fond du Lac High school student who pulled a fire alarm last month as a prank sending students and teachers outside during the coldest day this winter has been expelled for the rest of the school year. Temperatures were in the low single digits with windchills of 25 below when the 17-year-old student pulled the fire alarm January 18th. School officials say the students were outside for only about five minutes.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
