There was one local race on Tuesday’s primary ballot for Fond du lac County Board.  Sam Kaufman and Jon Venhuizen will advance to the April election for the District 7 supervisory seat.   That seat represents the Waupun area.  Kaufman received 220 votes and Venhuizen received 151 votes.  Incumbent Richard Wetzel is not running for re-election.   Jay Graff finished third with 128 votes.  There will be seven contested Fond du Lac county […]

Fond du Lac’s Agnesian HealthCare says its expanding its autism services.  At a press conference Tuesday afternoon Agnesian announced plans for a first of its kind Savant Institute in Fond du lac.  Plans call for the Treffert Center to open this spring at 371 E. 1st Street in Fond du lac.  The Center is named after Fond du Lac psychiatrist Dr. Darold Treffert, a world-renowned autism and savant syndrome expert.  "For me it […]

2-17-16 armed standoff suspect appears in court

A Fond du Lac man arrested following an armed standoff over the weekend has been charged.  Anthony Miotke made his initial Fond du Lac court appearance Tuesday on charges of battery, disorderly conduct and bail jumping.  Bail was set at $15,000 cash.  A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 26th.   Police say Miotke got into an argument with a woman at a North Marr Street residence Saturday evening, armed himself with a knife and barricaded himself in […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Senate has passed a bill that would stall Milwaukee's efforts to provide local photo IDs to the homeless, immigrants in the country illegally and others who have difficulty obtaining state IDs.  The Republican bill would prohibit towns and counties from spending money on or issuing photo IDs. MADISON, Wis. 2-16-16 man struck and killed while tending to disabled vehicle

WEST BEND, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say an 18-year-old man putting gasoline in his disabled vehicle was struck and killed by another vehicle in West Bend. The Washington County Sheriff's Office says the crash occurred Monday afternoon on U.S. Highway 45.
