2-16-16 one person injured in multiple vehicle crash in fdl

One person received non life threatening injuries in a multiple vehicle crash in Fond du lac.   Shortly before 6pm Monday rescue personnel were called to a four vehicle crash at the intersection of West Johnson Street and Pioneer Road.  The initial report stated that an occupant was trapped in one of the vehicles, but that was not the case.

2-16-16 test results for fdl man come back negative for zika virus

The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer says test results came back negative for a Fond du lac area man who was tested for the Zika virus.   The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently issued a travel warning for 14 countries and territories exposed to the virus, which has been linked to a torrent of birth defects in Brazil.  Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says the local  resident was tested […]

2-16-16 waupun school officials planning for major facilities referendum

Waupun school officials are laying the groundwork for a possible major facilities referendum in the November election.  A Facilities Advisory Committee has been meeting over the last wseveral months to revuiew district facility needs.  Superintendent Tanya Gubin says committee members have toured district facilities and later this month plan to review options and discuss prioritizing district needs.  Gubin says although no specific numbers have been discussed, the referendum could be in the neighborhood of $30 million.  […]

2-16-16 photo id in place for tuesday’s primary

The Fond du Lac County Clerk is reminding residents that voter photo ID will take full effect this year starting with Tuesday’s primary.   Clerk Lisa Freiberg says for most people a photo ID will be a driver’s license.  Freiberg says the poll worker will look at the photo ID to make sure it kind of looks like you and that the name on the ID matches the name in the poll book. SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Illinois lawmakers are seeking ways to penalize the use of drones to deliver drugs, cellphones, and other contraband to prison yards after seeing such cases in Ohio, Maryland and Oklahoma.  A proposal by Illinois Republican Sen. BURLINGTON, Wis. (AP) — Abraham Lincoln stands tall again in the southern Wisconsin city of Burlington.  An 8-foot-tall Lincoln statue kept watch over the town for 103 years until a vandal with a pickup truck yanked it off its base a couple weeks ago.
