2-20 strong winds knock down trees and power lines in fdl county

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says strong winds broke tree branches and downed power lines in the county Friday afternoon.  Sheriff’s captain Rick Olig says a tree branch snapped a power line near Dundee and pushed a snowmobile trailer across the road on Elmore Drive.  Power lines were also reported down near Mt. OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — Lockheed Martin has withdrawn its protest against a multi-billion dollar military contract awarded to Oshkosh Defense.  The move by Lockheed Martin clears the way for Oshkosh Defense to complete work on the $6.7 billion contract to build nearly 17,000 Joint Light Tactical Vehicles for the Army and Marine Corps.  Oshkosh Defense will deliver the vehicles over an eight-year period. 2-20-16 green bay packer suspended for violating league’s substance abuse policy

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Mike Pennel has been suspended by the NFL for the first four games of the 2016 season for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Pennel, an undrafted free agent out of Colorado State-Pueblo in 2014, played in all 16 games with five starts in 2015. He finished with 35 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble.

2-20-16 sturgeon season ends on upriver lakes

WINNECONNE, Wis. (AP) — The sturgeon spearing season is ending on the Upriver Lakes in the Fox Valley.  The Department of Natural Resources says after six days, spearers have taken enough female fish to halt the season on those waterways. The Upriver Lakes of Poygan, Winneconne and Butte des Morts have plenty of fish in shallow water.  A sturgeon weighing nearly 150 pounds was taken on Lake Poygan earlier this week. […]
