2-19-16 inmate attacks corrections officers at columbia correctional institution

Two corrections officers were injured after they were attacked by an inmate at the Columbia Correctional Institution at Portage.  The incident was reported Thursday. Sources told WFDL news the inmate, Larry Harris, attacked two prison workers.  Both officers were treated at an area hospital.  One officer remains hospitalized with injuries to his face.   Harris has been transferred to another prison.  He is serving a life sentence after a 1996 murder conviction in Milwaukee.

2-19-16 former fdl council member charged with forgery waives preliminary hearing

A former Fond du Lac city councilmember accused of writing a forged check has been bound over for trial.  James Nagle has waived his preliminary hearing on charges of forgery and uttering.  He is accused of writing a forged check at The Goldsmith jewelry store in Fond du lac.    Nagle is free on a $1,000 signature bond with orders to have no contact with The Goldsmith.  Nagle had taken out papers to run […]

2-19-16 fdl woman accused of stealing from bus tour company bound over for trial

A Fond du Lac woman accused of stealing thousands of dollars from her employer has been bound over for trial.  Tammy Anderson waived her preliminary hearing in Fond du Lac county circuit court on a charge of theft in a business setting.  She is accused of stealing money from Gold Coach Tours bus tour company in Fond du Lac.  She is free on a $20,000 signature bond.

2-19-16 ripon man faces heroin charges in waushara county

A Ripon man who was already found guilty in Federal Court of heroin charges is now facing charges in Waushara County for another heroin offense. Sheriff Jeffrey Nett says in February, the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office initiated a Felony Heroin delivery investigation involving 28-year-old Christopher Malzhan. 2-19-16 planned parenthood funding

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Republican Gov. Scott Walker has signed legislation that would cut millions of taxpayer dollars for Planned Parenthood in Wisconsin.  Walker signed the two bills Thursday at Life's Connection, a clinic in Waukesha that counsels in abortion alternatives.  One bill restricts how much Planned Parenthood can be reimbursed for prescription drugs. Longtime Rosendale Brandon school superintendent Gary Hansen is retiring.  Hansen will be stepping down at the end of the school year after more than 40 years in education.  Laconia/Cirrus School principal, Wayne Weber, has been selected to replace Hansen.
