The grand stand line-up for the 2016 Fond du lac County Fair has been announced. Fair Board executive director Matt Immel says he is excited about this year’s line-up. In addition to the Wisconsin country group the Mantz Brothers, the other acts are cover bands, Johnny Wad and Hairball. The Leinie Lodge Stage and Family Stage will also feature local entertainment and contests like Fondy’s Got Talent. Immel says there are some new attractions this year as well including a dinosaur show for kids. The Fair opens with the tractor pull Wednesday evening July 20th. A truck pull will be held Saturday afternoon and a horse pull on Sunday.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
