Fond du Lac School District residents will have the opportunity to interact with the three candidates for Fond du Lac School Board prior to the April election. Candidates will participate in a Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, March 22, at 6:30 PM in the McLane Meeting Room of the Fond du Lac Public Library. The candidates are newcomer Peggy Breister and incumbents Elizabeth Hayes and Mark Jurgella for the three open positions. Citizens will have the opportunity to ask questions of the candidates or express viewpoints. The Town Hall Meeting is sponsored by the American Association of University Women-Fond du Lac (AAUW) and Fond du Lac Area Retired Educators (FAREA). AAUW and FAREA are non-partisan organizations that support public education. The candidates will also be guests on AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program next Tuesday, March 22nd at 9:10am.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
