MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin’s former prisons secretary asked Gov. Scott Walker’s top aide to pressure the Department of Justice into giving him his old job back after he was demoted. Ed Wall resigned as Corrections secretary on Feb. 5 amid an investigation into abuse at the state’s youth prison. Documents show DOJ officials demoted Wall March 1 to deputy secretary of the Law Enforcement Services Division. Wall sent a letter to Walker’s chief of staff, Rich Zipperer, asking him to “fix this mess.”
