APPLETON, Wis. (AP) — Bernie Sanders criticized voter identification laws at a town hall in Wisconsin, a week before the state’s presidential primary in which the new requirement will apply. Almost 4,000 Sanders supporters packed the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton for the event. Sanders says governors like Scott Walker have been making it harder for people to participate in the political process.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
