Waupun Memorial Hospital's commitment to the patients and families it serves will be further evidenced with the development of new private patient rooms at the West Brown Street facility. The Fond du Lac School Board will consider a one-percent salary increase for school district administrators at their meeting Monday evening.  The increase would be for the current school year.  The increase totals nearly $26,500 and would be split equally among the 28 administrators.  Each person would receive $946 if approved.

The controversial Fruth Field artificial turf proposal comes before the Fond du Lac School Board Monday.  The board is scheduled to discuss the matter during a workshop session following their regular meeting.  In addition to artificial turf, plans call for updating lighting and sound systems and building a community pavilion.  The track around the field would be removed.  The school superintendent has proposed borrowing from the fund balance to pay for the project with a […]

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — A man is dead after he was struck by a freight train in Oshkosh.   Police say the Canadian National train was headed north into the city when it struck the 20-year-old Oshkosh man early Saturday.   The collision did not happen at an intersection with a road or at a pedestrian crossing.  Police don't know why the man was on the tracks. Five people received non life-threatening injuries in an apparent alcohol-related two vehicle crash in Dodge County.  The crash happened early Saturday morning on southbound Highway 151 south of Highway 49.  The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says  a car driven by 34 year old Eric Anderson from Waupun rear ended a Pontiac Grand Prix causing the Pontiac to go into the median and overturn.  Four occupants in the Pontiac, from Missouri, were transported to the […]
