Unseasonably mild weather means an early start to the golf season.  The driving range at Fond du lac County’s Rolling Meadows golf course opened Tuesday and golf pro Jeremiah Hoffman says the course opened for play Wednesday.  Last year the course set a record for revenue and Hoffman says an early start is always helpful.  'We had a really good year last year, set some benchmarks in sales,"  Hoffman told WFDL news. (AP) — Appeals Court Judge JoAnne Kloppenburg is criticizing state Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Bradley over anti-gay opinion pieces Bradley wrote as a college student nearly 25 years ago.   Kloppenburg said Wednesday at a candidates' forum in downtown Milwaukee that Bradley's career hasn't shown evidence of change. 3-9-16 fdl judge sentences convicted child sex offender to 20 years in prison

A Fond du Lac man convicted of sexually assaulting a young child is going to spend a long time in prison.   At a hearing Tuesday Fond du lac judge Peter Grimm sentenced 28 year old Randall Robison to 20 years in prison and 20 years extended supervision.  The sentence will run  consecutive to time he is already serving for another offense.  Robison was earlier convicted of the repeated sexual assault of the same child.

Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Rebeca Bradley wrote several columns on hot-button issues while in college, not just the one deriding gay people that she's apologized for this week. 3-9-16 fdl area association of commerce president steps down

Longtime Fond du lac Area Association of Commerce president Joe Reitemeier, has announced he is stepping down.  Reitemeyer announced he is retiring for personal reasons after 30 years at the helm.  Reitemeyer plans to serve as a consultant for the next six months as the search for a successor gets underway.  According to a press release the Association of Commerce executive committee will direct the agency until an interim president is named.

The former chairman of the Fond du Lac County Republican party says he remembers Nancy Reagan as one of the great first ladies in our nation’s history.  Reagan died over the weekend at the age of  94 from congestive heart failure.  Bernie Halbur was the Fond du Lac County Republican party chairman when Ronald and Nancy Reagan made a campaign stop locally during his run for president in 1980.  Halbur says he remembers Nancy […]

3-9-16 fdl fire department purchases bullet-proof vests

An assistant Fond du Lac Fire Chief says its equipment he hopes the department never has to use.  Todd Janquardt says the department recently purchased 25 bullet-proof vests and helmets to use when responding to the scene of potentially violent encounters.  Janquardt says with an increase of shooting incidents across the country, firefighters and paramedics are more at risk when they arrive on the scene.
