OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — This year's sturgeon spearing season on Lake Winnebago and the Upriver Lakes comes to a close with about one-third of the fish that were harvested last year.  The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says 703 sturgeon were taken this season, which came to a close Sunday. 3-1-16 ripon fire victim identified

Ripon police have identified the victim of a fatal fire over the weekend.  Police captain Bill Wallner says the victim is 32 year old Stephen Dahlke of Ripon.  He was the resident and lone occupant of the apartment where the fire started at 217 ½  Watson Street above Imagineers in downtown Ripon Saturday afternoon.  Ripon police, fire and the state Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the cause of the fire.
