3-24-16 treffert center-fdl school district explore 4k program

The Treffert Academy, in conjunction with the Fond du Lac School District, is exploring an option to offer a 4K program for the 2016-17 school year.  If feasible, an afternoon 4K program would be available, along with 4K wraparound care. Nobody was injured following a standoff with a car thief suspect in Fond du Lac.  Shortly before 11:30 Wednesday morning LaCrosse police contacted Fond du Lac police regarding a vehicle that was reported stolen in LaCrosse and believed to be parked at an address in the 800 block of  E. 3-23-16 campbellsport man dies from self-inflicted gunshot after being pursued by sheriff’s deputies

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after an 18-year-old Campbellsport man apparently shot and killed himself after Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies pursued his vehicle.  According to a press release the man had been posting suicidal statements on social media and texting acquaintances for several hours prior to the incident.  Police responded to check his welfare and located him  driving on Town Hall Road in the town of Auburn.  The man continued […]

3-23-16 fdl man convicted of arson sentenced to prison for probation revocation

A Fond du Lac man convicted of arson nearly a decade ago is going back to prison. Jamie Schwartz was convicted  of arson in 2007 and sentenced to 18 months in prison and two years of extended supervision.  He was also placed on probation for six years.  Schwartz was convicted of setting fire to an RV.   He was back in court last week for sentencing after his probation was revoked.   Judge Dale English sentenced Schwartz […]

A Fond du Lac man is lucky to be alive after apparently suffering a medical  emergency prior to a crash in Fond du Lac.  Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says rescue personnel were called to the scene at the intersection of South Main and 9th Streets to a report of a two vehicle crash.  O’Leary says the driver of one of the vehicles was pulseless and not breathing when paramedics arrived.  O’Leary says paramedics used an […]
