MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Nominees for the final four spots on new partisan commissions to oversee elections and ethics laws in Wisconsin have been delivered to Gov. Scott Walker. Democratic legislative leaders on Thursday submitted three former judges to serve on the ethics commission and three former county clerks for the elections commission. Republicans had previously submitted their picks.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
