Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a storage shed and most of its contents in Dodge County over the weekend. Shortly before 7pm Saturday Beaver Dam firefighters were called to the scene on County Highway S to find the shed fully engulfed in flames. The shed contained a tractor, several other farm implements and a motorhome. Firefighters from Juneau, Burnett, Lowell, Reeseville, Watertown, and Hustisford, assisted at the scene. A rural water tender operation was used and crews were able to save the motorhome. The shed and equipment is owned by Delmer Schoppe of Juneau WI. The cause of the fire is believed to have been a nearby wood burning furnace. The shed was a total loss. Loss was estimated at $75,000.00.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
