Two newcomers have been elected to the Fond du Lac city council along with two incumbents.  Kay Miller was the top vote-getter with 6,605 votes.  "I am very excited and very humbled,"  Miller told WFDL news.  Also new to the council is Derek Terbeest.  He says economic development will be his top priority.  Incumbents LeeAnn Lorrigan and Karen Merkel were re-elected to two year terms.

There are several new faces on the Fond du Lac County Board following Tuesday’s election.    Waupun attorney Sam Kaufman was elected In District 7.  Kaufman defeated Jon Venhuizen 788 to 601.  Town of Byron chair Bob Simon was elected in District 8.  Simon received 709 votes to 557 votes for Jim Eckberg.   Fond du lac High School teacher Joe Fenrick, defeated incumbent Donald Skog in District 15 585 to 225.  Incumbent […]

4-6-16 fdl county town and village races

There were a handful of contested races for town and village offices.   In the village of North Fond du Lac, Keith King and John Duffy were victorious for two seats on the village board.  Dan Redman, Jim Eckberg and Chris Cook were elected to the Oakfield village board.   Aaron Becker won a seat on the Ripon city council.   Mike Weiss was elected to the Campbellsport school board.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A state elections official says the wait to cast a ballot at one polling place in Wisconsin was two hours.  Government Accountability Board elections administrator Michael Haas says a voter called from the Town of Cottage Grove in Dane County who ended up leaving his polling place because the wait was too long. ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) — A Wisconsin woman is suing a Rochester funeral home and Mayo Clinic after her husband's body was accidentally cremated.  Jennifer Huber's husband, Tony, died last May after he hit his head during fall at their Alma, Wisconsin home.
