4-27-16 investigators say wayside tavern fire was arson

Investigators say a fire that destroyed a landmark Fond du Lac restaurant and tavern was arson.  The February 24th fire destroyed the Wayside Bar on West Division Street.  Investigators with the Fond du Lac Police Department, Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation/State Fire Marshal’s Office have determined the fire was intentionally set.  Division Chief of Fire Prevention Troy Haase says anyone with information about the […]

4-27-16 waupun man convicted in overdose death of juneau woman

A Waupun man has pleaded no contest to a charge of supplying the drugs that led to the overdose death of a Juneau woman in 2009.  Thirty-three year old Christopher Skalitzky entered the plea to a charge of delivering schedule 2 narcotics in Dodge County Circuit Court.  He also pleaded no contest to charges of bail jumping, criminal damage to property, and disorderly conduct in a separate case.  A pre-sentence investigation […]

4-27-16 oshkosh-girlfriend homicide

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — A jury has convicted a 31-year-old Oshkosh man of killing his girlfriend last year.  The jury convicted Samson Gomoll of first-degree intentional homicide on Tuesday in Winnebago County Circuit Court.  Gomoll was accused in the Sept. 20 fatal shooting of 42-year-old Stacey Strange at the couple's apartment.  The trial began Monday, with jurors hearing closing arguments Tuesday morning.
