4-22-16 former music teacher at beaver dam wayland academy pleads not guilty to child sex abuse charges

A former music teacher at Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam accused of sexually assaulting a student has pleaded not guilty to charges against him.  Twenty-three year old Adam Hechimovich of Mayville entered the plea Wednesday in Dodge County Circuit Court.  He’s charged with 7 counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff and 8 counts of child enticement- sexual contact.  In December, police were contacted by the victim, […]

The gigantic Martin Mars aircraft, the world’s largest flying water bomber and last of its kind will make it first trip to Wisconsin to participate at EAA AirVenture this summer.  EAA spokesman Dick Knapinski says the massive airplane will be parked near the EAA Seaplane base on Lake Winnebago.  Knapinski says the plan will also fly several demonstrations throughout the week during the daily afternoon air shows.  The aircraft has the ability to carry […]

4-22-16 nominees for state ethics commission

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Nominees for the final four spots on new partisan commissions to oversee elections and ethics laws in Wisconsin have been delivered to Gov. Scott Walker. Democratic legislative leaders on Thursday submitted three former judges to serve on the ethics commission and three former county clerks for the elections commission. Republicans had previously submitted their picks.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker is considering Democrats' suggestions for changing tactics in the fight against chronic wasting disease as infection rates climb. The Department of Natural Resources ended large-scale efforts to thin the herd in infected areas in 2010 amid intense backlash. Walker's chief-of-staff met Wednesday with Democratic state Reps. Chris Danou and Nick Milroy. Their suggestions included adopting Illinois' herd-thinning strategy.
