An elderly woman has died from injuries suffered in a three vehicle crash in Dodge County last week. Eighty eight year old Helen Henkel from Waterloo, Wisconsin died this week at UW Hospital in Madison. She was a passenger in an SUV that failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of STH 89 and CTH T last Wednesday. The Jeep struck a vehicle that was northbound on T. The Jeep then struck a pick-up truck that was stopped at the stop sign. Three other people received minor injuries in the crash.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
