A Campbellsport man was seriously injured in a truck versus tree crash over the weekend. On Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 755am, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on Midland Rd in the Town of Ashford. It was reported the operator of the vehicle, a 22 yr. old male from Campbellsport was thrown from the vehicle and was laying in the roadway. The subject was flown from the scene with serious injuries by the Fight For Life Helicopter to Froedert Hospital. Evidence at the scene indicate that speed and the subject not wearing a seat belt were factors in the accident. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Campbellsport Ambulance and Fire Department. The investigation into the accident is continuing.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
