Dozens of teenagers were cited for underage drinking and an adult was cited for providing alcohol at a large underage drinking party in Fond du lac County. Sheriff’s chief deputy Mark Strand says shortly before 11pm Friday deputies responded to a residence in the Town of Byron for an anonymous report of a possible underage drinking party. Strand says when deputies arrived there were approximately 100 individuals ranging in age from 17-23 years of age. Forty two citations were issued for underage alcohol consumption, two people were taken into custody for outstanding warrants and a 21 year old was cited for the county ordinance “social hosting”. Strand says five deputies were on the scene until just past 3:00 A.M. arranging transportation and making sure anybody who was impaired was not driving.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
