MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker’s office has released the names of 10 applicants looking to replace retiring Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser. They are attorneys Andrew Brown, Claude Covelli, Paul Scoptur and Jim Troupis; state appellate judges Mark Gundrum, Brian Hagedorn and Thomas Hruz; Jefferson County Circuit Judge Randy Koschnick; Marinette County Circuit Judge James Morrison; and Wisconsin Public Service Commission Chairwoman Ellen Nowak.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
