5-3-16 hwy 23 expansion still on hold

A delayed Highway 23 expansion project between Fond du lac and Plymouth is still on hold following a federal judge’s ruling.  On Friday U.S. Eastern District judge Lynn Adelman denied a motion by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration to restart the construction project.  Adelman earlier halted the project following a lawsuit filed by the environmental group 1000 Friends of Wisconsin.  State senator Devin Lemahieu says the judge’s order is obstructionary.  Area […]

5-3-16 evidentiary hearing underway for fdl police officer

An evidentiary hearing is underway in the case of a Fond du lac police officer who resigned following a sex scandal two years ago.  Earlier this year a circuit judge ordered that officer Curt Beck be reinstated and awarded Beck damages for back pay.  The city promptly placed Beck on paid administrative leave pending a hearing before the Police and Fire Commission.    Beck has accused police chief Bill Lamb of perjury and misconduct during the […]

5-3-16 fdl police continue to follow up on leads into tavern arson fire

5-3-16 waupun correctional officer attacked by inmate

Waupun prison officials are investigating following an inmate attack of a correctional officer over the weekend.  Sources told WFDL news the officer was attacked from behind and punched in the head.  The officer was treated at an area hospital.    The incident happened around 6pm Sunday at the Waupun Correctional Institution.
