Work is underway on several Fond du Lac construction projects. Community Development director, Dyann Benson says framing is underway for the new student housing project for UW-Fond du Lac. Rough inspections have been completed for the Starbucks on East Johnson Street as well as Dunkin Donuts and Noodles & Company on West Johnson Street. Utilities have been installed for Quartz Right on E. Larsen Drive and the footings are in for the baseball field improvements at Marian University for the new Northwoods League team, the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
