Several area schools are getting off to a late start this morning because of slippery road conditions and dense fog. Patches of black ice are making for dangerous road conditions. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says there have been a couple of vehicle run-offs this morning. A dense fog advisory is in effect until 10am for our listening area including Fond du Lac, Dodge, Sheboygan, Washington and Winnebago counties.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
