todayJanuary 26, 2017

A Fond du Lac man faces multiple charges  following a domestic standoff Wednesday morning involving the Fond du Lac SWAT team.  Shortly before 2am police were called to a residence on North Peters Avenue in response to a domestic abuse incident which involved the threat of a gun.  “Its my understand this was a pretty violent domestic assault,”  assistant police chief Steve Thiry told WFDL news.  Thiry says after a five hour standoff,  police entered the residence to rescue the victim and her four children.  Shortly after the rescue the suspect, a 25 year old Fond du Lac man, was taken into custody without further incident. “He was in the bedroom and I know SWAT team members had a visual on him, they could see him, so they were able to make entry pretty quickly and have him into custody before anything else could happen.”  Thiry says police did not find a gun.
