When someone gets a speeding ticket they usually pay the fine and move on. But a Fond du Lac attorney decided to take his own case to trial. Attorney Alex Ullenberg was cited for speeding 15 miles an hour over the posted 35 mile an hour speed limit. A jury trial was held in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court this week and the jury found Ullenberg guilty. He was ordered to pay a $175 fine.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
