Two people were seriously injured in a car versus semi crash in Dodge County. The crash happened early Saturday morning at the intersection of CTH A and CTH W in the Township of Oak Grove. A preliminary investigation showed that a 24 year old Horicon man was eastbound on W and failed to stop at a stop sign rear ending a semi traveling north on Highway A. The car driver and a 24 year old passenger from Juneau were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries. The semi driver was not injured. Investigators say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. Cth A was closed for more almost four hours while the crash was being investigated and the scene cleared.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
