1-9-17 convicted fdl child sex offender moves to new residence

Fond du Lac Police say a convicted child sex offender has moved to a new residence.  Darin Klumpyan is living at  177 West Second Street. Klumpyan  was previously released from prison in 2011 after serving seven years for 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child and three counts of Lewd and Lascivious Behavior. Klumpyan was convicted of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.and for exposing himself to both adult and juvenile victims. […]

1-9-17 drive sober or get pulled over results

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s deputies made over a thousand traffic stops and 16 OWI arrests during the recent Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.  Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt says 577 traffic citations were issued and 618 warnings.   The stepped up campaign ran from just before Christmas through the New Year's holiday.

                  Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a garage and two automobiles in Fond du lac over the weekend.  Shortly before 2am Sunday firefighters were called to 132 E. 1-9-17 fdl school board to reconsider administrator salary increase at monday meeting

The Fond du Lac School Board will reconsider a salary increase for administrators a little over a month after voting down an across the board one percent pay hike.  At the request of board member Linda Uselmann the school board voted will reconsider the matter at their meeting Monday.  School board members expressed concern that an across the board increase gave much larger increases to administrators already making more money.   […]

A Waupun man was arrested following a domestic incident involving his mother.  Waupun police were called to a home at  723 W. 1-7-17 fdl area united way fund drive at 90 percent of goal

With less than two weeks left the Fond du Lac Area United Way fund drive is at 90 percent of its goal. United Way director Amber Kilawee says $682,000 has been raised toward the $760,000 goal. Kilawee says  the United Way Board  will make allocation decisions to the 26 member agencies on January 19th.

1-6-17 fire destroys vacant barn near brandon

Fire destroyed a  barn in Brandon Thursday afternoon.  Several volunteer  fire departments were called to the scene on Amity Road shortly after 4pm Thursday.  The fire killed one horse in the barn. No people were injured.   The cause of the fire remains under investigation but does not appear to be suspicious.
