An unclaimed Powerball ticket worth $1 million is set to expire in less than two weeks.  Wisconsin Lottery officials are encouraging players who purchased Powerball tickets in Madison last summer to check their tickets.   "One lucky player holding a ticket worth $1 million ticket has yet to come forward," said Casey Langan, Wisconsin Lottery spokesman.  A ticket sold for the August 6, 2016 Powerball drawing is worth $1 million. 1-23-17 ice fishermen rescue atv operator on lake winnebago

Nobody was injured when an ATV hit an ice shove tossing the operator into shallow water on Lake Winnebago early Sunday morning.  Shortly before 3am Sunday witnesses dialed 911 to report an overturned ATV on the lake  near Garden Dr. in the Township of Fond du Lac.   Witnesses from shore provided information that there were several individuals near the ATV and confirmed that one subject was in open water. The Department of Public Works says there will be a temporary closure of West Division Street between Macy Street and Main Street. The closure is scheduled for Tuesday, January 24th.  West Division Street will be closed to allow a Contractor to install a water service for fire protection for 15 W. Division Street. Motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route as there will not be a signed detour route.

1-23-17 florida man sentenced to prison in fdl extortion case

A Florida man who threatened a Fond du Lac man with a gun at the direction of a betting handicapper is going to prison.  At a hearing Friday in Milwaukee Ray Batista was sentenced to four years in prison.  Batista earlier pleaded guilty to extortion and racketeering.  Investigators say he was paid $200,000 by Adam Meyer to threaten Badger Liquor Company owner Gary Sadoff in 2012.   Shortly after the encounter, […]
