2-9-17 medical marijuana

todayFebruary 9, 2017

The executive director of a pro-marijuana group says he supports a statewide referendum to legalize medical marijuana.  Democratic lawmakers are calling on Republicans to let the public weigh in on whether Wisconsin should join 28 other states that have legalized medical marijuana.   Eric Marsh with Southeastern Wisconsin Norml says that makes sense.  Marsh says opponents of legalizing medical marijuana have falsely asserted that medical marijuana would be a gateway drug to other more serious drugs.  Meanwhile Marsh says he supports a bill that would allow possession of a marijuana extract to be used to treat seizures.  Marsh says the oil extract has proven to be successful.
