A Fond du Lac group is proposing a large mural to honor the armed forces. A Leadership Fond du Lac team wants the mural painted on the north side of Dreher Collision Concepts at 290 North Main Street. Community Development director Dyann Benson says the proposed mural is eight feet high and 35 feet long. Benson says the Fond du Lac Arts Board has recommended approval of the mural which represents each branch of the armed services, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. The Fond du lac Plan Commission is also recommending approval.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
