Bail was set at $500 cash for a suicidal man arrested after firing a gun inside a Fond du lac home last week. Forty three year old Timothy Traver is charged with possession of a firearm while intoxicated and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors. The SWAT team was called February 16th for a report of a man firing a gun inside a home in the 100 block of East 11th Street. Police say Traver was outside the home and was arrested before the SWAT team arrived. According to a criminal complaint Traver had consumed 15 beers in the hours leading up to the incident.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
