An assistant Fond du Lac Fire Chief says he is leaving Fond du lac with mixed emotions. Steve Beer will begin his new job as Fire Chief in Hutchinson, Kansas in April. “Its been my goal to be a fire chief some day and as I started to look around I was very fussy on the type of community. Beer will oversee a department that features six stations and just under 100 firefighters.
