2-22-17 beaver dam man gets maximum prison sentence for threatening police

todayFebruary 21, 2017

A Beaver Dam man has received the maximum sentence for threatening police.   Dodge County Circuit judge Joseph Sciascia sentenced 47 year old Steven Bilke, to six years in prison and four years extended supervision for threats to law enforcement and disorderly conduct.  Last May officers responded to a domestic incident in Beaver Dam where Bilke confronted them. Bilke then threatened three officers with a barrage of profanities later that day at the hospital,  telling them he would come to their homes and beat them.  DA Kurt Klomberg argued for a stiff sentence, saying “Bilke is a career criminal, with over 30 prior criminal convictions and has been in an out of prison for the last 20 years.”   “We will continue to prosecute threats like these vigorously because our law enforcement personnel deserve our respect and thanks,” Klomberg said. “They’re protecting lives and we must do everything we can to support them.”
