MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker has taken more jabs at Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin, calling for her and the U.S. Senate to take a vote on President Donald Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court. Walker was joined by fellow Republican Attorney General Brad Schimel at the Capitol news conference Wednesday that was part of a coordinated 11-state effort organized by the conservative group the Judicial Crisis Network. Trump nominated Neil Gorsuch for the court, leading Baldwin and Democrats to fight the pick.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
