The Fond du Lac police department has received new equipment to curb alcohol abuse, thanks to a generous donation. Drunk Busters of America Founder and Owner Curt Kindschuh, recently donated four different drug and alcohol goggles to the City of Fond du Lac Police Department valued at nearly $1700. The goggles simulate alcohol and drug impairment and are a tool used to educate people of all ages about the consequences of alcohol misuse and abuse.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
