Representative Michael Schraa (R-Oshkosh) would like to hear what his constituents think of the governor’s budget proposal, which was released on February 8. He has scheduled Town Hall Meetings in four locations around the district over the next few weeks. Interested citizens are encouraged to read over the Budget Presentation, Budget in Brief, or the Executive Budget, which is available on the Department of Administration website, www.doa.state.wi.us. The budget bill can be found at www.legis.wisconsin.gov. Residents of the 53rd Assembly District are invited to join Representative Michael Schraa at one of these Town Hall Meetings to discuss concerns and priorities.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
