MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker has appointed a former lobbyist for the Wisconsin Bankers Association to head the state agency that regulates the banking industry.  Walker announced Thursday that he was appointing Jay Risch to head the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions.  Risch currently serves as deputy secretary of the department. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel has made a deal with the manufacturer of a drug used to reverse overdoses to make it more readily available at a lower cost.  Schimel on Thursday announced the partnership with Adapt Pharma for the drug Naloxone. 2-24-17 flu cases on the rise in wisconsin

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin is seeing another jump in flu cases with five times the amount of confirmed cases compared to this time last year. 2-23-17 active shooter conference

Law enforcement from around the state gathered in Fond du Lac Wednesday to train for a situation they hope they never encounter.  An active shooter conference was held for fire, police, and EMS units from all over Wisconsin with a goal of training emergency personnel to save as many lives as possible.  The FBI says active shooter incidents have increased 600 percent in the last 15 years.
