Country music star Martina McBride is coming to the Fond du lac County Fair.  The fair board announced on its Facebook page that the 14-time Grammy nominee, will be the headline act at the Fairgrounds grandstand on Friday July 21st.  McBride has won Country Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year Four times.   Tickets go on sale in April.  General admission $20 and $25 for VIP before July 1st […]

2-21-17 school bus crash near hortonville sends 11 to hospital

Eleven patients received mostly minor injuries after a school bus was rear ended  by a semi truck near New London.  Three children–ages 11-to-14–were transported to transported to the hospital and are listed in good condition.  The children are New London School District students.  Two adults, including the school bus driver, are also being treated at the New London hospital and are in “good condition.”  Five additional patients arrived at ThedaCare Medical Center-New London […]

2-21-17 fdl man accused of firing gun inside home charged

Bail was set at $500 cash for a suicidal man arrested after firing a gun inside a Fond du lac home last week.  Forty three year old Timothy Traver is charged with possession of a firearm while intoxicated and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors.  The SWAT team was called February 16th  for a report of a man firing a gun inside a home in the 100 block of East 11th Street. 2-21-17 traffic re-routed around two vehicle crash scene in fdl

There were no serious injuries in a two vehicle crash in  Fond du Lac this morning.  The crash happened shortly before 6am at the intersection of Johnson Street and National Avenue.  Ambulance personnel evaluated two people at the scene but nobody was transported to the hospital.  Traffic was re routed until the scene was cleared.

2-21-17 dodge county sheriff’s office crack down on crime at beaver dam establishment

WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) — Waukesha police hope DNA evidence might help crack the cold-case death of an infant from more than 40 years ago.  The body of a baby girl was found in a storm drain in the Milwaukee suburb on Jan. 6, 1975. BLOOMER, Wis. (AP) — Former state Rep. Tom Larson of Colfax has died, a year after he announced he would not seek re-election as he battled cancer. He was 69. Larson died Saturday at Dove Healthcare-Bloomer, according to Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. The three-term Republican lawmaker was a licensed electrician. The Fond du Lac County Clerk is predicting a low voter turnout In Tuesday’s primary election.  Clerk Lisa Freiberg is predicting eight or nine percent of registered voters in Fond du Lac County will cast ballots.  Besides the statewide race for school superintendent there are races for Ripon school board, town of Taycheeda town board and town of Osceola clerk.
