3-1-17 lieutenant governor won’t have to serve on jury

todayMarch 1, 2017

WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch won’t serve as a juror in the homicide trial of an Oconomowoc woman. Kleefisch was struck as a potential juror Tuesday in the trial of Amy Van Wagner, after a judge found that political donations Kleefisch has made to the district attorney’s campaign could give an impression of impartiality. Wagner is on trial for being a party to first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse in the May 2015 death of her husband, Stanley Van Wagner.
