Longtime Fond du lac County Board supervisor Paul Levandowski has died. Levandowski died Saturday after suffering a stroke. Fond du lac County executive Al Buechel says Levandowski had served a total of 13 years on the board. He was first elected 2002, went off the board in 2008 when the size of the board was reduced, and was elected to the board again in 2010. Levandowski served on a number of committees over the years including social services, public safety, natural beauty and arboretum committees. He also served on the Advocap board of directors and Aging, Disability Resource Center board. Buechel says Levandowski was one of the veterans on the county board and will be greatly missed.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
