Fond du Lac County officials are looking at possible ways to ease congestion at a busy intersection. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt says there is a concern about long traffic back-ups at the intersection of Highway 23 and Rolling Meadows Drive. Waldschmidt says the problem with changing the timing of the signal lights is that it could impact traffic flow traveling east on Johnson Street through the city. The Fond du Lac County Traffic Safety Commission discussed the matter at their meeting this week.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
