A Fond du Lac man has been charged with reckless homicide in the heroin overdose death of a Fond du Lac woman. Forty one year old Joshua Asencio made this initial Fond du lac court appearance Thursday and is being held in the Fond du lac County Jail on $100,000 cash bond. Asencio is accused of supplying the heroin that led to the overdose death of a 33 year old Fond du Lac woman at a Berger Parkway apartment last November.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
