The principal at Rosendale Intermediate School is notifying parents after a student brought a substance to school Wednesday, telling other students it was mercury.  Principal John Hokenson said in an email to parents that many students handled the metal believing they were holding mercury.  But the principal says it was determined that the chemical was actually a metal called gallium.  Hokenson says gallium is not toxic and naturally occurs in […]

The Fond du Lac Police and Fire Commission has dismissed a charge filed by the former Fond du lac County District Attorney accusing the police chief of perjury and misconduct in office.  Former DA Dan Kaminsky filed the charges against police chief Bill Lamb accusing the chief of perjuring himself during the investigation of former police officer Curt Beck.  Beck was one of five officers involved in three extramarital affairs […]

A teenage boy involved in a rollover crash in Dodge County has died from his injuries.  Fourteen year old Cade Werner died Tuesday evening at Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.   Werner was a passenger in a car that rolled over on Pond Road east of County Highway P Friday morning.  He was ejected from the vehicle.  The driver, a 16 year old boy, received minor injuries.

Fond du Lac school officials hope construction work can begin the day after graduation on replacing the high school field house gym floor.  Superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert says less than 20 years after it was first installed the floor is failing and needs to be replaced at a cost of more than $300,000.  The school board gave the okay during a workshop session this week.   The school district has […]
