3-16-17 state supreme court urged to adopt stricter recusal rules

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A national watchdog group is urging the Wisconsin Supreme Court to adopt stricter rules to prevent judges from hearing cases involving significant donors to their campaigns.  The Campaign Legal Center said in a letter Wednesday the Wisconsin Supreme Court should adopt more stringent rules proposed by 54 retired Wisconsin judges. 3-15-17 rosendale intermediate school officials say substance brought to school was not mercury

The principal at Rosendale Intermediate School is notifying parents after a student brought a substance to school Wednesday, telling other students it was mercury.  Principal John Hokenson said in an email to parents that many students handled the metal believing they were holding mercury.  But the principal says it was determined that the chemical was actually a metal called gallium.  Hokenson says gallium is not toxic and naturally occurs in […]

3-15-17 rubicon boy dies from injuries suffered in rollover crash

A teenage boy involved in a rollover crash in Dodge County has died from his injuries.  Fourteen year old Cade Werner died Tuesday evening at Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee.   Werner was a passenger in a car that rolled over on Pond Road east of County Highway P Friday morning.  He was ejected from the vehicle.  The driver, a 16 year old boy, received minor injuries.
