3-11-17 fire destroys minivan near waupun

Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a minivan near Waupun Friday afternoon.  Firefighters were called to the scene near Highways 26 and 151  to a report of a minivan on fire.  The fire destroyed the vehicle.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin company can lay claim to having the best cheese in America.  The Sartori company in Antigo won the title at this year's U.S. Championship Cheese Contest with its Sartori Reserve Black Pepper BellaVitano, by master cheesemaker Mike Matucheski.    The U.S. championship is considered the largest technical cheese, butter and yogurt competition in the country. 3-11-17 two teens injured in dodge county rollover crash

3-10-17 illinois woman convicted in death of infant son

An Illinois woman has been convicted of neglect in connection with the death of her infant son in Fond du Lac.  Airrealle Smart  entered what’s called an Alford plea to a  charge of  neglecting a child  and neglecting a child causing death.   Under the plea Smart is convicted of the crime but does not admit guilt.  A sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 19th.  Police say Smart and her boyfriend […]

The Fond du Lac Traffic Safety Commission is looking for ways to improve pedestrian safety at a crosswalk near the city-county government center.  Fond du lac County Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt says the concern is southbound traffic on Macy Street turning right onto Western Avenue. 3-10-17 horicon teen dies from injuries suffered in crash

A Horicon teenager has died from injuries suffered in a crash in Dodge County earlier this month.  The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says 19 year old Destiny Kogler died Thursday at a Madison hospital.  The crash happened March 2nd on State Highway 33 near Fairfield Road, in the town of Oak Grove.  A preliminary investigation shows that Kogler lost control of her car on snow covered Sth 33, crossed the […]

3-10-17 walker makes stop at oakfield school

Governor Scott Walker highlighted his proposed K-12 budget during a stop in Oakfield Thursday.  The governor is proposing $649 million in new state aids for public schools and an increase in per pupil aid by $509 million.  The governor says the Oakfield School District is estimated to receive approximately $7.36 million in funding from the state under the proposed budget including an increase of  $288,000 in per pupil aid and […]
