3-28-17 fire damages town of beaver dam home

Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged a home in the town of  Beaver Dam.  Firefighters were called to the Travis and Ashley Kleindl home on South Center Road shortly after 3:30am Tuesday to find a fire in the basement.  The fire was quickly extinguished.   Fire chief Alan Mannel says the  occupants were able to wake-up and safely escape thanks to properly working smoke detectors.  Beaver Dam Firefighters […]

3-28-17 fdl crime rate down

The crime rate in Fond du lac is down.  Fond du lac police Chief, Bill Lamb says the overall crime rate in Fond du Lac dropped three percent from 2015 to 2016.  "Burglaries, thefts, motor vehicle thefts, arsons...those are all five year lows,"  Lamb told WFDL news.  "There were no homicides in the city in 2016.  We haven't had a homicide in the city since July of 2015."   Lamb […]

3-28-17 fdl solutions center director concerned about trump budget cuts

The director of the Fond du Lac Solutions Center says she is concerned about a Trump administration budget proposal to eliminate Community Development block grants.  The Solutions Center provides shelter and outreach for homeless people and domestic violence victims.  Nicole Johnson says the Solutions Center currently receives about $10,000 a year in Community Development Block grants.  Johnson says in addition to potentially losing community development block grants, the center could […]
