3-25-17 fdl police say man with gun outside jewelry store was a misunderstanding

The case of a man with a gun outside a Fond du Lac jewelry store turned out to be a misunderstanding.    Police were called after a man was spotted outside Kay Jewelry store Thursday afternoon.  It turns out the man had just purchased a muzzleloading gun and was placing it in a vehicle.   Store employees feared he was staking out the store for a robbery and called police.

3-25-17 trial date set for fdl man accused of sexually assaulting boys

A Fond du Lac man accused of providing drugs to boys and sexually assaulting them is scheduled to go on trial next month.  A jury trial is scheduled to begin April 17th for  James Rasmussen on more than 60 charges including first degree sexual assault of a child, exposing genitals to a child,  child enticement, soliciting a child for prostitution and delivery of marijuana.    Rasmussen is being held in […]

3-25-17 fdl area united way reaches goal

The Fond du lac Area United Way has reached its goal.  Executive director Amber Kilawee made the official announcement at this week’s annual awards and recognition luncheon.  "$760,000, goal met,"  Kilawee told WFDL news.  "I want to thank everyone who contributed to making that happen."  The United Way serves 22 member agencies throughout Fond du lac County.

3-24-17 one vehicle rollover crash in fdl

One person was seriously injured in a one vehicle rollover crash in Fond du Lac.  Rescue personnel were called to the scene on Interstate 41 southbound between Hickory St. and Hwy 151 shortly after 7:30am Friday.   Investigators say the car rolled several times before coming to rest.  The driver was transported to the hospital.
